This website looks at some the most popular wine producing nations that are involved in World Cup Sporting Events.
We aim to provide a brief overview of current World Cup Sporting Events as well as the ideal bottle of red or white wine to have at your World Cup party to support your team.
This year we will be following the Rugby World Cup which kicks off on the 9th September in New Zealand. The first teams up are New Zealand v Tonga.
As well as their love for sport, New Zealanders also enjoy a nice glass of Wine and also now produce a wide variety and array of Wines. This has a lot to do with New Zealands's temperate, maritime climate. It was original the Sauvignon Blanc that put New Zealand on the Wine map.
Wine is produced all over New Zealand's expansive coastline which enables them to produce a range of diverse varieties including; Bordeaux-style blends and Syrah in the north and Hawke's Bay Pinot Noir and Riesling in the southerly regions.
