Euro 2016 France - Bordeaux Schedule and Wine
World famous for its wine and vast number of quality vineyards, Bordeaux is a well renowned city in France. It was over 2000 years ago that the romans planted the first vineyard, which has since developed into a huge and important player within the global wine market.
Bordeaux has more listed buildings than any other French city outside of Paris and will be hosting several football matches during Europe’s biggest football competition – Euro 2016.
Thanks to the maritime climate and calcium rich soil, Bordeaux is considered an ideal location to produce wine. Producers from the Bordeaux area produce in excess of 800m bottles of wine every year.
Some of the best French red wines come from this region, although they are in no way the only good French wines.
France has some wonderful wines and for those that get the opportunity to venture to France during the Euro 2016, you can try a whole host of wines.
What football matches are taking place in Bordeaux at Euro 2016?
Belgium is the official team that is able to claim Bordeaux as their base camp – though we wouldn’t expect that they would be able to indulge in the wines! (Perhaps if they win the tournament)!
